- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Little Bird -- Outstanding read : Being a big fan of Dr. Ian, from Rachael Ray, I read his first book with character Ashe Cayne and also found it outstanding, so I could not wait for this next book! It is outstanding and I love the main character, so witty, smart and intelligent and somewhat snarky! That in itself, is entertaining. My only problem, and that’s MY own problem, is that it’s very complex and so many characters, that due to my age and losing intelligence, I would get lost with who’s who. But, it’s definitely worth the read and so very interesting. Also, a lot of details about Chicago, which became more interesting as the book went on. After a short foray I remembered the story and was pleased to find more of his work. Great, relatable characters and what a twisty mind he has! A very influential public figure dies and the death is ruled a suicide, which is accepted by some. But some things are at odds. Trying to figure it out involves sorting through evidence to find what’s misconstrued, what’s missing and what’s false. Then to identify the why and who tipped the scale and who pulled the trigger.
